The Wildebeest's Review of Caravan and Outdoor Life - Issue 631
It is October 2014, and I have the latest copy of Caravan and Outdoor Life in my grubby hooves. This is issue number 631 which, by itself, is not a significant number but think about how long this magazine has been around. 631 issues! I wish I had copies of all those issues. I would love to relive the excitement that camping brings across all those issues.
The Central Karoo provides the backdrop to the main article this month. The trip was undertaken with an Isuzu KB300 D-TEQ LX double-cab bakkie towing a new Jurgens Fleetline caravan. What a nice combination. The Karoo is a fascinating place despite its somewhat barren appearance. The crown jewels of the Karoo are the wonderful people that live there.
A feature often found in this magazine is a reader who has built their own motorhome. In this case a Mercedes-Benz Vito panel van provided the shell. I think that this is a wonderful project as you can make the motorhome fit your personal requirements, but it requires a set of skills that I don’t possess.
